Month In Review
"Only in our dreams are we free. The rest of the time we need wages." - Terry Pratchett
Okay....so I've been absent from this blog for a long time..........YET AGAIN. Well here's a drive-by of all the comings & goings of the last month or so......give or take a week.
Here's the new family member that I referred to in my past message.
Her name is Angel.
This is the only picture that Kevin/Kathy have sent me. In fact I haven't heard from them in weeks.
Apparently they've been too busy poop & scooping in their home to send me any more!
Best of luck guys.
Well I can now add "Toaster Repair Man" to my list of job skills.
About a month ago the toaster just stopped working. I managed to pull it apart and diagnose the problem, fix it and put it back together again.
Unlike my engine rebuild on my Jeep there wasn't any parts left over after the repair was complete.
It broke again.....and was fixed again.
Might be time for a new toaster.
- My surrogate niece Courtney & her band "Boxer Rebellion" won regional 'Battle of The Bands' and went on to compete at the finals against 4 other bands. They didn't win.....but they rocked their little hearts out.
My son, Allison (lead singer) has one hell of a voice on her. Were all very proud. I think its safe to say that they finished in a solid 2nd spot even though the other bands were all pretty good as well. Congrats to Courtney.....and the other members of "Boxer Rebellion".
Here's a the article about them that was published in the Gander Beacon.
Other Firsts:
- Brad Gushue's team wins gold for Newfoundland.....I mean Canada. I know this is old news....but I predicted the outcome weeks & weeks ago.
- I went snow mobiling last weekend for the first time. What a blast. I can hardly wait to do it again. I reached a top speed of 60 km/h only to later find out that the speedometer was in Mph which is the equivalent of 98 km/h........zoom, zoom, zoom.
- While snow mobiling we came across a pile of Moose prints.......but for all I know Sherri's brother Dwight placed the prints there to keep the myth alive.....
I've still yet to see a Moose.
- I finally visited Shelia & Craig's cabin on "Loon Bay". They have a great cabin, with an even better view. At night I heard my first ever Owl....outside of a zoo.
- I ate my first ever moose sausage.....although the package said "Hot Italian Sausage" on it.....yet another ploy to keep the Myth going.
Oh yeah......I didn't have a real pic so I used this one.......Sorry Craig.
- Yesterday we bought a computer........weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Now I can finally catch up with some of you on MSN.
I have to thank Sherri for letting me use her work computer at the risk of being fired over the last 6 months......Thanks Sherri.
Oh and if someone at IBM happens to read this........what are you doing reading a blog on company time?
- I managed to sneak a peek at Sherri's brother Rod's latest project.
He's building a plane and its only a month or so from being complete.
We spent a few hours checking out the plane while Rod was kind enough to field my questions that were too numerous to count.
He's done almost all the work himself.
