Now I've seen everything
"The other night I ate at a real nice family restaurant. Every table had an argument going." - George Carlin
I knew Newfoundland was different from Ontario in oh so many ways... But now I've seen it all. We were out and about today and we happened to drive past a Ponderosa.... Yes an actual Ponderosa restaurant. I was under the impression that they pulled out of Canada almost 15yrs ago. I googled them and found their website with ease only to be surprised yet again. There are a total of 7 Ponderosa's still in Canada. One can still be found in Ontario at Belleville... 3 in New Brunswick... And finally 3 in Nova Scotia.
Your probably thinking the same thing that I was... 1 in Ontario, plus 3 in New Brunswick, plus 3 in Nova Scotia equals 7... They must of forgot the 8th one in Newfoundland.
And then the real bombshell was dropped... According to their website St.John's is part of Nova Scotia... Who knew.
I sent off a quick email to Ponderosa to help out our Geographically challenged friends to the south.

Ha!! TOO funny...yeah there's a Ponderosa here in Halifax...actually it's in Bedford. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been asked how long a walk NFLD is from NS. I usually end up telling them that it's a pretty damn long walk, considering you have to walk the bottom of the ocean to get there! LOL
