    Amateur carpenter.... I think not!

"if it ain't broke, don't lend it out." - Red Green

This might come as a bit of a shock for most of you.... But, I actually started and finished a project of no small undertaking in a 2 day period. Really!

We decided that it was time to start tackling the basement and the first course of business was to try and put chaos into order. As you can see from the photo we had our work cut out for us.

Sherri suggested that this was the perfect opportunity to put my new tablesaw to work and build a workbench. Excitedly I rushed over to Home Depot and picked up all the needed supplies and got to work that very same day.

Here I am in the very beginning stages of construction. I was very eager to build a sturdy, long lasting workbench.

It measures at 27" Wide, 8' long and almost 40" high. I would say it weighs close to 150lbs. With my tools underneath it I can't even lift one end of it off the ground... so needless to say if we ever decide to move its staying with the house.

I'm all for staying with my workbench.

Sherri's Father Roland gave me a rave review by stating
"man alive... Impressive" and that's good enough for me.

    Well Stage #1 is complete.

Now onto Stage #2: Painting the floor.
